Economic To Use...

For as little as 4 to 5 cents per day, you can provide your animals with a complete balance of macro and micro mineral elements for optimum health, productivity and fertility.

Superior is in powder form...

Superior Mineral Supplement may be fed as a dry lick or is ideal for mixing with grain, protein meals or molasses. If offered freely in a trough, intake may exceed daily recommended amounts, especially during the first 7 - 10 days. Regulate intake by offering small amounts regularly. Salt could be added to reduce intake.

Mixing with Grain...

Superior Mineral Supplement has also been proven in Feedlot Trials to provide an effective buffer against acidosis. This added benefit means that Superior, when fed or mixed with grain, provides both a mineral and trace element additive as well as buffering the rumen against acidosis or grain poisoning. Trials at the University of New England have shown that Superior Mineral Supplement has provided similar benefits to the use of Rumensin and Eskalin as a preventative for acidosis.

Total grain diet, grain assist, stud cattle feeding -

When mixing as a total diet Superior should be mixed at 20kg/tonne.

Grain feeding as a supplement -

When feeding grain as a supplement, to provide the daily requirement for each animal (10g/100kg body weight), calculate the number of head, their body weight and the kilos of grain fed daily to each beast to determine the mixing rate of Superior per kilo or tonne of grain.

Example: 50 head of cattle with an average weight of 400kg being fed 2kg of grain per day. They will require 40g/head per day or the mob (consuming 100kg of grain will require 2kg of Superior minerals which equates to 20kg of Superior per tonne of grain.)

Note: Consult AgSolutions for grain and feedlot mixing guides. When feeding grain or feedlotting always ensure animals are fed quality grassy hay prior to introduction to the grain diet and always have access to roughage such as hay or barley straw (not lucerne or legume hay).

Molasses...

Superior is suitable for mixing with molasses and can be calculated by determining how many head, their weight and how many days the molasses mix lasts for. Superior is mixed at the rate of 10 g/100kg body weight per day. Example: 100 head of cattle weighing 400kg on average that consume the mix in 3 days will require 40g/head/day = 120g/head for 3 days which = 12 kg Superior per molasses mix to last 100 head for 3 days.

Protein Meals...

Superior Mineral Supplement is an ideal additive to protein meals as Superior provides the minerals and trace elements while the meal provides a true protein source. Salt can be added to limit the intake of protein meals.

Consumption Rate

The following average rates will vary according to both the state of pasture and the current condition of the livestock -

Cattle: 30 - 75 grams / day
Horses: 30 - 60 grams / day
Sheep: 5 - 10 grams / day
Goats: 5 - 10 grams / day

Initial consumption rates may exceed these averages due to an initial ‘gorging’ period, however the rate of consumption should level out over time. Initially additional blocks should be provided to reduce the chance of overcrowding.

Additional Information

Superior Mineral Supplement...

Superior is our dry lick or grain additive that can be mixed with any form of supplements to suit your program. As a dry lick Superior should be kept dry (does not contain urea) to ensure palatability. Superior can be fed all year round and will benefit digestion, growth and fertility of your livestock.

Superior Mineral Supplement + Copra...

This blend of supplement contains 10% copra meal as a dry lick or feed additive that provides an additional true protein source.

Mega Minerals Lick Blocks...

Our lick blocks are a safe supplement that do not contain urea. As a mineral and trace element supplement, Mega Minerals can be fed all year round including winter and dry times.

Consumption and Intake of Supplements...

Due to the variation in properties, seasonal conditions and livestock requirements we advise farmers that intake of our supplements may vary. If animals are lacking minerals then initial consumption can be higher than expected and usually it takes 1-2 weeks for this to balance out. When feeding Superior Minerals, additional salt or other additives can be added to reduce or control intake. Alternatively you can physically reduce the amount of supplement fed out each time until this craving period ends.

Mega Minerals Lick Blocks may also experience a variation in intake when first introduced. At times animals will require more and may also stop eating lick blocks during the year. When feeding all year round only offer enough blocks to satisfy the current demand. Remember, even in good seasons or after rain, your livestock may require minerals.

Rain / Wet Weather...

As our supplements do not contain urea they are safe products in the event of rain. In saying this, Superior is best kept dry and while Mega Minerals Lick Blocks will tolerate wet weather, exposure to long period of rain and weathering may reduce palatability.
